Jason David Frank‘s martial arts legacy will live on through his students — who’ll continue to train at his academy … TMZ has learned.

Sources with direct knowledge inform us …. Jason’s Rising Sun Karate school will continue to operate, with no plans to close it down in the wake Jason’s death. We’re told Sam Sprague — who co-founded Rising Sun with Jason in the 2000s, and who’s also a senior instructor — will carry on the torch.

Our sources tell us that everyone at RS, from students to staff, is devastated by the loss of Jason… but insist that they’ll keep open and honor Jason’s memory by passing along his teachings.

Rising Sun offers three locations in California and Texas: 2 in the former and 1 in both the latter. Toso Kune do is a combination of several styles of fighting and a technique that Jason created.

We’re told that the Rising Sun community plans on honoring Jason in some way company-wide, but we don’t have many details.

When news of Jason’s death broke, Rising Sun posted a tribute. It said they had lost a master instructor and a student, and that he would be missed.

TMZ broke the story … the “Power Rangers” star died by suicide this weekend, news that rocked his former costars and the internet alike.

He was 49.
